Happenings for September 24-28

Posted by Erica Fulton on September 27, 2018 in Class News |

8th Grade:

Students have begun their unit on biotechnology. This week we are watching videos about people who live their lives with a prosthetic limb. We will have discussions on ways in which people can accomplish daily tasks with prosthetics as well as discuss how the ADA (Americans with disabilities act) helps those with physical and mental disabilities to have the same rights to education, access to public buildings and employment as able bodied people. We start construction on a model of a prosthetic and on Wednesday the 3rd of October students in my class will experience the day without the use of an arm to gain a better understanding of how others with a disability are able to live normal lives.

7th Grade:

Students in this class are finishing up their unit on advertising and animation. They are completing their PSA’s and showing them to their classmates at the end of the week.

Next week we will work on safety in vehicles

6th grade:

Students are working on their inventions activity this week and next week. The goal this week is to complete the paper portion and then next week work on the project portion which is a choice of either a power point, model or timeline.
