NWEA testing starts tomorrow with the reading test. It is important that you are here for testing. HOWEVER, the flu has started to hit STEM. Please stay home if this is the case.

Today we started to read, annotate, and discuss “The Charge of the Light Brigade” as a class; looking for figurative language and meaning.

JOURNAL: Philosophical Question – – When you go to a movie theater and the seats have armrests, which one is yours and which your neighbors?  Have a good explanation for your answer.

3.Write body 2 – you are on your own for this one.  We will not be outlining it as a class.  You can still use your notes and resources for help.

JOURNAL: Would You Rather – – be raised by birds or fish? 

As a table group, students came up with an example of assigned figurative language and then we shared and discussed as a full class. We then added the example to our interactive notes.

HOMEWORK:  NWEA testing next Tuesday (reading), Wednesday (Math), and Thursday (Language).

6th Grade

JOURNAL: NO Journal today. 

Today students startes a new Google Doc and save the document under the title “Bravery TDA”. They formatted the Google Doc to be double spaced, size 12 font, with font style – Times New Roman, Arial, or Tahoma

They than began writing their bravery TDA – introduction and body #1 (the could use their notes and notebook. Some students started a peer critique of their introductions and body 1.

HOMEWORK:  Students can work on their introductions and body 1 paragraphs at home if they choose, but NO PARENT OR SIBLING ASSISTANCE PLEASE! 🙂
