Hello!

Today we introduced our new topic: transformations of functions. We are taking the functions we know and seeing how changing the function will also change the graph.

The homework tonight is below:

Hello!

Today we talked about quadratic functions and their inverses. On Agile Mind, we went through the topic “Understanding Inverse Relations”, under the “Exploring” tab, through “The quadratic function and its inverse” pages 1-6.

Here is the homework:

Hello!

Today we explored the idea of the inverse of an exponential function. The inverse is actually a completely new function called the “logarithmic function”.

We worked through the notes on our own and if you have any questions, I urge you to go through the notes on Agile Mind again as a first response.

The homework is below.

Go on and conquer!

Hello!

Today we continued working with inverses and saw a few different ways we could find the equation of an inverse. We did this by making a table and finding the slope, we also did this by rearranging the terms in the equation so that instead of saying “y = _______” it said “x = _______”.

The homework tonight is attached below.

Hello!

Today we introduced the concept of inverses and saw how inverses affect graphs, tables, and functions.

The homework for the weekend is below.

Hello!

Today we worked on the study guide online. To get there, follow these directions:

  1. Go to dearborn.agilemind.com and log in with you student number as both username and password
  2. Go to the calendar and click on where it says “Study Guide”
  3. You may need to use the arrow keys on your keyboard to go to the next questions.

Go on and conquer the study guide for the test tomorrow!

Hello!

Today we looked at geometric sequences to help us:

  1. See how the general formula would look
  2. Figure out a shortcut for finding the sum of a geometric sequence

Tonight’s homework is attached below. Remember that tomorrow (9/10) is a review day and Wednesday (9/11) is our assessment for this topic.

Go on and conquer!

Hello!

Today we had a day to review all that we’ve done so far in the class. The focus was to get questions answered about one scenario as a group and to share information in your group so that nobody is behind or misunderstanding something.

No homework this weekend, have fun!

Go on and conquer!

Hello!

Today we used the functions we made yesterday to find the sum of terms in a sequence. One example was an auditorium that had 20 seats in the first row and every other row had 3 more seats than the one in front of it. We found a way to find the total number of seats in 12 rows.

On Agile Mind, we went through Topic 1, Exploring Arithmetic Sequences and Series. The homework tonight is #15 on Student Activity Sheet 2.
