This Thursday and Friday is PJ day at school. Children can wear PJs (please make sure they are good for playing inside and outside) and bring a stuffed animal to school that day. Stuffed animals must not be larger than your child’s backpack. These are the last days to turn in any book forms as well. The children love turning them in and getting stickers on their reading owls! Keep on reading! We will add up all the stickers to see how many books we’ve all read in March.
Last, please turn in your farm field trip info and money by Thursday and Friday. I have to get our exact count to the farm next week.
Last week, we read one of Audrey Wood’s most popular books, The Little Mouse, the Red Ripe Strawberry, and the Big Hungry Bear. The children were able to disguise their own strawberries to hide from the bear using all sorts of fun supplies.
We had so many fun Mystery Readers this week! Thank you to all our readers! Next week is our last week for Mystery Readers unless you’ve spoken with me about coming in after our spring break. We would love to have you!
This week, we’ve started a new thing with your children. After they wash their hands, they have to come to a table and find their name. The name card goes into a basket to check them in for the day. It’s great for first name practice! We are also looking at our friends names at circle time so we can really get used to everyone’s names.
Try to arrive at U of M Dearborn by 9:45. You will need to park in the parking structure on the 3rd floor for visitors. I believe the parking is free, but there was a charge in the past, so double check when you arrive. You’ll walk over to the Environmental Interpretive Center which is very close to the parking structure.
If you are registering for the parent tot class for next year, you may have noticed that the registration was not open. The main office is still working on this class and it will now be open on March 18. It also looks like they will just be opening the first half of the year instead of the whole year. Rest assured, you will still be able to register for the second half before new people are allowed to register for the second half.
This is your reminder that conferences are this week from Monday through Thursday. I have attached the conference list in case you want to check it out again, but I did change it to view mode only. If your time no longer works for you, please see me so we can work something out.
When you arrive for your scheduled time, you can either come to our usual outside door and Mrs. Lackey or I will let you in or you can come in the front door and wait in the lobby. Please try to be on time as we have conferences back to back. Conferences are meant to be parents only if at all possible. Thank you so much and we look forward to meeting with you all this week!
