We will be learning about community helpers for the next two weeks. On Tuesday the 13th and Wednesday the 14th, both classes will be talking about mail carriers and delivering their own mail (Valentine cards) to their friends. We have already created our school mailboxes, so no need to bring in anything extra. Both classes have 16 students. Please remember to only have your child fill out their name on the cards and not the individual names of each classmate.
You may have noticed the yellow handout in your child’s folder a few weeks ago. If you wanted your child to see the dentist and you filled out the necessary paperwork, please let me know next week. If you are having your child attend the school dentist, please know that you will need to be present for the appointment. Thank you!
This is just a reminder that our Talk With Me program is tomorrow, Monday, February 12 at 1:00. If you are bringing a child from the TTH class, plan on coming to our normal pick up/drop off door at 12:55 and we will let you in and lead you to the gym where the program will take place. If your child is in the MWF class, please arrive at the normal pick up time to sign your child out. You are welcome to bring your child a lunch to eat in the classroom or you can take your child out and come back at 12:55 for the event.
During the week of Valentine’s Day, we will be learning about community helpers. On Tuesday, February 13 and Wednesday, February 14 we will be learning about mail carriers and delivering the mail. If your child brings in Valentine cards on this day, they will be able to play the role of mail carrier! We will be decorating bags in class that we will use as our mailboxes, so no need to bring in any containers from home. In both classes, we have 16 students. You can bring in cards and/or small treats that will fit in a paper lunch bag. This activity is voluntary, but most do participate. If your child wants to draw their own cards, they could do that too! On each card, write or have your child write their name only. Do not address each card to individual students in the class. It makes it too hard for the kids to pass out their mail. If you have any questions, please let me know.
Roar! We painted with dinosaur feet today! Our art is drying in the hallway so you can see it. Please be careful you don’t bump into it or you’ll end up with brown paint on you.
Our MWF group will be spending the next two weeks talking about nutrition and the food groupies. It will be some great review from when the LAHC group was with us, as well as more information on eating from all different food groups.
