Picture day order info

Jackson and Olivia’s mom found a good deal on Lifetouch pictures for picture day and asked that I pass it on to you. It’s good until tomorrow. You would use the code if you want to pay for pictures online. We are waiting on getting the official paperwork from Lifetouch as they didn’t send enough to DuVall, so look for that in folders in the coming week.

Week of October 23: Harvest Veggies

We will need lots of donations to make this week a success! Please take a look at the sign up below and add your child’s name if you are able to help out. The kids have a blast setting up their farmers’ market and learn a lot in the process as well. I’ll be taking lots of pictures during this week, so keep an eye out.

Please note the quantity on the sign up. The quantity is how much we are looking for from EACH person who signs up. So if it says, “2 per sign up”, please bring in two of that item. Then if someone from both classes signs up, we will have a total of 4 of that item to use in the market. There are two veggies we only need one of total, so I put NONE NEEDED in two of the spots. I left a few blank spots at the bottom if anyone wants to bring in something not on the list (I will be bringing in pumpkins, so we won’t need any of those). Thank you again for signing up!

After the harvest veggie week, we will be heading into one of our largest units, which is colors. This unit will be several weeks long and go until Thanksgiving. MWF students will have homework during this unit, so keep an eye out for that in an upcoming blog.

We would like to add fall findings to our science table this week. If you and your child find any acorns, leaves, etc. while outside, please bring them in! Thanks!

MWF: LAHC info

Tomorrow we will be sending home paperwork about LAHC, the group that will be coming in for the next 6 Mondays to teach the kids about healthy eating. There is a paper that needs to be filled out and returned Monday ONLY IF you don’t want your child taking the classes, if you don’t want them photographed, or if they have allergies. If you want your child to participate and if you are OK with them taking pictures, disregard the form. If you have any questions, please let me know. If your snack day falls on a Monday in the next six weeks, you will not need to bring anything for snack as the group provides snacks these days. Your child will still get to do all the snack day jobs though!

TTH Class: Case of hand, foot and mouth and strep in the classroom

Below are links to symptoms for both illnesses. Please check them out. If your child has a fever (100 degrees or more), please remember they must stay home and cannot return until they are fever free for 24 hours. If you see any signs of the above illnesses, please keep your child home and consult your doctor for additional information.

Early Childhood Trunk or Treat Event

Our second annual trunk or treat will be on Thursday, October 26 at the Administration building from 6:30-8:00. Mrs. Lackey and I will be dressed up and passing out candy. Come by in costume and enjoy the fun! We are looking for candy donations for the event. You can give the candy to us or put it in the green bin outside our room (donations are voluntary). We can’t wait to see you there!
