MWF: Color Unit Homework

On October 30 we will begin our color unit. During this time, your child has homework! We are asking each child to cut out 2-3 pictures of the color of the day from newspapers, ads, magazines, whatever you and your child can find. Your child should be finding the pictures and cutting them out with your minimal assistance. They need to bring these pictures into class in a ziplock bag labeled with you child’s name. Only bring in the color we are talking about for that day. The days and colors are listed below.

October 30: Red

November 1: Yellow

November 3: Orange

November 6: Blue

November 8: Green

November 10: Purple

November 13: White

November 15: Pink

November 17: Black

November 20: Brown

TTH Class: Halloween

We have had a few parents ask if bringing in treats was ok and the answer is, yes! This isn’t required, but if you would like to send in something simple to pass out, that would be fine. We do ask that you don’t send your child into school in their costume. It’s a normal preschool day for us (with some fun Halloween songs added in) and costumes make it difficult for your child to use the bathroom, have fun with art, etc. Don’t forget we can see your child all dressed up if you come to the Early Childhood trunk or treat on October 26th at the ASC (Ten Eyke) building. Hoping to see you all there!

Picture Day info

We still have not gotten enough paper copies of the picture day form so I wanted to send you the info so you can order online. I do have a few paper copies if you are unable to order online. Picture day is Monday, October 30 at 9:15. I would like the MWF class to get through the line first so we can start our day, so plan on arriving a minute or two early and we will let you in and walk you down to the photographer. Parents, we are asking you to stay with your child as they get their picture taken please. TTH class, come at 9:15 if you want your child to have their picture taken. As I stated above, I will have the MWF class stay ahead of you so they don’t miss a lot of class. Hoping the photographers are ready to go and the line moves quickly, but plan for 30 minutes just in case.

MWF class: LAHC

Yesterday we had Miss Zahraa visit us from LAHC. She talked with the kids about the importance of handwashing and to try to wash their hands for 20 seconds. We then did some fun exercises for 20 seconds each to see how long that was. For snack we had whole wheat tortillas with cream cheese, bananas, and blueberries. She asked the kids to always give her snacks two bites before deciding how they feel about it and some really enjoyed it! I think their favorite part was putting the snack together on their own.
