TTH: Name check in

This week, we’ve started a new thing with your children. After they wash their hands, they have to come to a table and find their name. The name card goes into a basket to check them in for the day. It’s great for first name practice! We are also looking at our friends names at circle time so we can really get used to everyone’s names.

Field trip parking

Try to arrive at U of M Dearborn by 9:45. You will need to park in the parking structure on the 3rd floor for visitors. I believe the parking is free, but there was a charge in the past, so double check when you arrive. You’ll walk over to the Environmental Interpretive Center which is very close to the parking structure.

Parent tot registration

If you are registering for the parent tot class for next year, you may have noticed that the registration was not open. The main office is still working on this class and it will now be open on March 18. It also looks like they will just be opening the first half of the year instead of the whole year. Rest assured, you will still be able to register for the second half before new people are allowed to register for the second half.

Conferences start tomorrow!

This is your reminder that conferences are this week from Monday through Thursday. I have attached the conference list in case you want to check it out again, but I did change it to view mode only. If your time no longer works for you, please see me so we can work something out.

When you arrive for your scheduled time, you can either come to our usual outside door and Mrs. Lackey or I will let you in or you can come in the front door and wait in the lobby. Please try to be on time as we have conferences back to back. Conferences are meant to be parents only if at all possible. Thank you so much and we look forward to meeting with you all this week!

TTH: Indoor gross motor fun and playing with goop.

We kicked off March is Reading with a Cat in the Hat day! Throughout the day, we read both the first and the second Cat in the Hat books. In the second, the cat makes quite a mess with his pink cat ring left behind in the bathtub. The pink goop gets everywhere! We played with pink goop, which was made of cornstarch and water with food coloring. The kids had a blast and most didn’t want to stop.

We also had some fun playing indoors today (with wind chill, it was too cold and the school decided on indoor). Mrs. Lackey and I took turns taking small groups in the hallway to use the obstacles decorating the floor. Lots of fun jumping, balancing and bear crawling.
