We had a great first full week of school!

We are working on time and money in math and will continue practicing these skills next week.  In social studies we are learning about human and natural characteristics of our community.  The students are writing personal narratives about an event in their lives during writer’s workshop.

Just a reminder that we have gym on Mondays.  Students need to have gym shoes to participate.   Thursday is our library book check out day.  Students must return their library books in order to check out new books.

Students are welcome to bring water bottles to class so that they do not need to leave the room for a drink of water during the school day.

Many papers came home the first week of school.  If you have not returned them, please fill them out and return them as soon as possible.

Students are bringing home their spelling tests today.  Please sign the test and have your child return it to school so I know that you saw it.  Students will be able to keep their spelling tests at home on Monday.

Planners- went home last night. Students will be bringing home their planners daily. The students will be writing their homework in the planners and recording their behavior. Please check their planners every night and sign it.

Gym- Gym is on Mondays. Students need to wear gym shoes to participate in gym.

2014 Summer Homework

Here is the summer homework packet for anyone who has misplaced theirs.  Please turn it in to your fourth grade teacher on the first day of school.

As the end of the year is close, we are starting to organize books.  Please return any library, classroom, text, or other books that you may have at home that belong to Geer Park.

Tomorrow is our field trip to Greenfield Village.  We will be outdoors all day so students need to wear comfortable shoes and clothes.  They also need to bring a bagged lunch to school tomorrow.  No glass bottles please!

We will not be having any cold words this week due to it being a shorter week. We will be focusing on the different meanings of these words.

On Thursday, May 29 the third grade classes will be going to Greenfield Village. The permission slips are going home today. The cost for the field trip is $5. Please return the permission slips as soon as possible. We are also able to have three chaperons. If you are able to join us, please let me know.
