Spelling Tests
Spelling is a very important skill. We will have a spelling test on Friday of each week. These tests help the children know how to read and write sight words and word family (rhyming) words. There will be one mystery word on each list. Practice extra words for each word family (rhyming) list that comes home. The mystery word will be another word family (rhyming) word.
New spelling words will be distributed each Friday in the classroom newsletter posted on our class blog. The spelling words will also be listed on the homework that comes home each Monday.
Our first spelling test will be this Friday! The words are as follows: bat, cat, sat, I, a, the
Please help your child practice reading and writing these words throughout the week.

Hello
I don’t know about other parents if they feel the same way, but over the break maha practiced both reading eggs and math seeds
and her spelling and her addition has doubled I couldn’t believe what a huge progress it made, she loved it, and she was building houses and buying furniture
it was just awesome. Thanks for signing them up for it.
I didn’t know whether I could count the reading book in reading eggs as part of her reading materials ?

That is wonderful! Yes, I am very excited to see what kind of growth the children have made. January is usually a big developmental milestone for most of the children where the “light bulb” seems to click for them and they start really growing fast!
Feel free to double count reading as much as you like! Anytime the children spend reading can count towards the reading log! 🙂
