Students were given a summative assignment today about Natural Hazards. This assignment is due by 8:00 a.m. next week Friday, February 14. It is to be done on google slides and needs to be shared with me. There will be a vocabulary quiz next week Wednesday, February 12.

For the past several days, students have been studying precursors, if any, that some natural hazards have. They have also been studying if natural hazards can be forecast. There is an assignment that is due at the end of the hour tomorrow, but can be worked on at home this evening. Also, if students want to do some extra credit, then they can take the quizzes at the end of the articles that need to be read for today’s assignment. In order to receive any extra credit, then students must complete all four of the quizzes on the same sheet of paper and the title of the article must be included for each quiz. The quizzes will be due Friday.

We have been studying plate tectonics and earthquakes the past several days. Students have an assignment on mapping earthquakes and volcanoes that is due tomorrow. Many students have not been doing their assignments, therefore parents may be getting emails indicating that their child will be staying after school to complete the work.

Students began their final assignment on hurricanes today and it is due Monday. They will begin earthquakes on Monday, however I will give an assignment on plate tectonics as they will need to be familiar with plate boundary’s in order to complete the earthquake work..

Students are working on the three top natural hazards for their state. This assignment is due tomorrow. They will have to google and watch videos of the hazards at home as the videos are blocked at school on the Chromebooks.
