Welcome

Hello Families,

My name is Ms. Dexter, and I am very excited to be a new fifth grade teacher at Salina Intermediate this year. This is my 7th year teaching and my 4th year teaching 5th grade.  I graduated  high school from Edsel Ford and college from Eastern Michigan University with my Bachelor’s in Elementary Education with a focus in Language Arts and Health Education.  A little bit about me, I am a mother of three beautiful children, Jaelyn (age 9), Payton (age 8), and Ashtyn (age 4), and a huge Michigan State Spartans fan.  One of my passions outside of the classroom is coaching.  I have coached high school basketball and softball for 16 years and some of my career was spent coaching at Edsel Ford HS.

I am very excited to be your child’s fifth grade teacher this year and I look forward to meeting each of you in the near future.  This will be an exciting and adventurous school year.  If you need to contact me or have any questions, please be sure to sign up for ClassDojo (parent letters went home on Monday) or email me at dexterl@dearbornschools.org.
