  • We will begin talking about state and federal government powers and which powers are shared.
  • Then we will discuss how a bill becomes a law.

Science

  • We will begin mystery 3 on acids, reactions, and properties of matter.
  • Students will be asked the questions: What would happen if you drank a glass of acid? Example…orange juice.

Week of September 24th

Field Trip is Thursday, September 26th!!  Please be sure to pack a lunch.  Chaperones, please make sure you are at the school by 8AM.  Bus will leave promptly at 8:30AM.

  • In writing we are publishing our personal narratives.

Math

  • We will be working on using exponents to denote powers of 10 with application to metric conversions.
  • Then we will work on naming decimal fractions in expanded, unit, and word forms by applying place value reasoning. Use the chart below to help with homework.

Science

  • We started mystery 2 by asking ourselves if we could make worthless things into gold.
  • Students did an experiment with pennies and a steel nail to see how the copper changed the steel nail to copper.
  • Students made observations and are taking notes on the changes.

Social Studies

  • We are continuing to talk about the three branches of government.
