Here is what is happening this week:
ELA
- Spelling words: insist, climate, historian, inspire, cause, exchange, algorithm, shiver, region, expire, effect, surprise, private, empire, visit, estimate, lattice, alive, notation, liquid.
- We are writing personal narratives about a special moment in our life.
- Focusing on quotes directly from text and to be able to support inferences with the text.
Math
- We began our first unit of Eureka Math.
- We learned a new way of showing place value and to determine how to divide and multiply by 10. 100, and 1000.
- Succeed books will be coming home for homework, there is a homework helper to help you guide your student. More info will be posted soon about help for math.
Social Studies
- We discussed 9/11 and the events of that day.
- We also will continue to talk about the 3 branches of government.
Science
- We did a science experiment about chemical reaction of making a dull penny, shiny again using household products like vinegar.
- We learned how to take Cornell Notes as we learned about chemical reactions.
