Week of January 8th

Welcome back!  I hope you all had a wonderful and restful break!

This week we will be doing our winter NWEA testing.

ELA

  • We are writing an informational piece describing how it would be to sleep in space.
  • Describing the setting, characters, problem, solution, and theme of a story.
  • Prefixes and suffixes.
  • The spelling words this week are: habitat, planned, flagged, liberty, formatted, admitted, conferred, omitted, occurred, starred, gripped, dropped, referred, omitted, planned, survival, controlled, tripped, species, permitted

Math

  • Fractions and decimals using several graphic models for renaming fractions as decimals.
  • Bar and circle graphs and how they construct and discuss properties of circle and bar graphs.
  • Reviewing fractions, equivalency, and decimals.
  • Unit 5 test will be on FRIDAY!

Science

  • Planets and solar system.
  • What are the wandering stars?
  • Review and study guide.
  • Summative assessment on THURSDAY!

Social Studies

  • We will be reviewing Europe and the explorers that took to the sea.
  • Discussing the Columbian Exchange and how explorers changed the world.
  • Study guide and review of three worlds meet.
  • Test will be NEXT WEEK!
