Today in class, we will continue to learn about how the legacies in Ancient Greece are used in our world today (literature and history, government, medicine, astronomy, and mathematics). For extra credit please email me using this sentence frame using one of the following topics above, “Ancient Greece contributed to today’s world in the area of ____________. The Greeks came up with _____________, and today we use this”.

4/16 Legacy of Ancient Greece

Good Morning!

Today in class, we will begin our final chapter on Greece, which is about the legacies they left on the world today and how we use them! We will begin the hour by placing some notes in our notebooks for chapter 31, we will then begin to discuss the Legacy of Ancient Greece with a preview activity/main idea activity.

4/15 Finishing up the rest of the Greek God/Goddess Presentations!

Good Morning!

Today in class, we will begin the hour by watching flocabulary side 1 over the date of 4/12/19. We will then finish up on our Greek God Presentations, followed by working on the summary of the Greek God Cornell Notes!

4/12 Greek God Presentations!

Good Morning!

It was very nice meeting/seeing parents again at conferences! Glad that you could make it! 🙂

Today in class, we will begin the hour by finishing up projects and reminding you how to present the project. Then we will begin our presentations over the Greek Gods/Goddesses!

*Side note, most students will not present today, they will present on Monday! Be prepared and be here!

4/11 – Greek God Project due tomorrow!

Good Morning!

As a reminder Parent-Teacher conferences will be held from 4-7pm in the cafeteria. If you bring your notebook and planner (or have your parent bring it!), you will receive two extra credit points.

Today in class, we will quickly review the project, followed by working and completing our project over the Greek Gods!

*Side note, you can print the layout of the project on I-Learn, or here. GreekMythologyPamphlet . This can also be put on a plain white computer paper/kindergarten paper that was given to you in class. If you plan to do the tissue box, please follow the directions in I-learn under Chapter 29 Greek Gods – “Greek God Mythology Tissue Box Extra Credit” and follow the directions there as well as from class.

Homework:  1. Final Copy of the Greek Gods Assigment due tomorrow! Bring EVERYTHING with you if youre printing. Pictures/papers. 2. Work on questions/connections/keywords from your G/G C.Notes! 3. 4/10 Greek God Project!

Good Morning!

As a reminder, conferences will be held in the cafeteria tomorrow from 4pm-7pm. If you bring your notebook and planner, you will receive extra credit! I look forward to seeing you there!

Today in class, we will review a few questions over the Greek God Packet, followed by turning it in. I will then explain the Greek God/Goddess Project, from the rubric they received yesterday or Monday. As a couple of reminders, students must cite their source from where they get the information from about their Greek God/Goddess. Failure to do so will result in 0. Students must also decide if they are going to put the project on a tissue box, print the assignment off Ilearn (Chapter 29 Greek Gods – Click Greek Mythology layout Project ((you may also use this on your tissue box)), or use computer paper to put the assignment on) GreekGodsproject

4/9 Greek God/Goddess Packet

Good Morning!

Today there will be a shortened schedule today due the 8th graders taking the PSAT today. AS A HUGE REMINDER, IF YOU ARE NOT HERE YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL WORK. This includes Bellwork, and the Greek Mythology Packet and moby max.  Please follow the directions below, so you can be caught up!

Today in class, we will review pages 2-4 on the Greek God/Goddess Packet, followed by explaining the Greek God/Goddess Project if time permits (they will all receive a rubric today)!GreekGodsproject – If you find a source, PLEASE DO NOT USE WIKIPEDIA, but copy down the website by copying and pasting it into your email and sending it to yourself!

Directions on the Greek God/Goddess Packet –

Page 2, 

Just write in connections that you learned from the reading on page 305 yesterday, and the brain pop video.

Page 3 –

Use the top of page 305 to fill out the top part of the worksheet by stating the God and what they are the Greek God/Goddess of.

Bottom part of the packet – Make up your own name (could be yours) and what super powers you would have and how you would use them. Example, “Fast Running, Shape Shifting, Can make fire,..”

Page 4 – Read and annotate the text at the top, followed by answering the bottom questions

4/8 – Welcome Back! Greek Gods/Goddesses!

Good Morning!

I hope you all enjoyed your break and are ready to begin the fourth and final card marking of the year!!! Let’s make it the best one, because it is the last! Conferences will be held this week from 4-7 on Thursday, April 11th. 

Today in class, we will begin the hour by picking out our Greek Gods/Goddesses for this Unit – Students can put their project on a tissue box for extra credit, so they will need to get one if they want! We will then review how to complete the Greek God/Goddess packet. After, we will learn a little bit more about Mt. Olympus and the Greek Gods and Goddesses.

3/29 Chapter 28 and 30 Test!

Good Morning, TGIF and happy last day before break!!!

Today in class, we will take our Chapter 28/30 test. We will then work on MobyMax after! Good Luck! Grades will be in this afternoon for the test! On top of that, grades will for card marking 3 will be final this afternoon as well!
