9/24 Test Tomorrow!

Good Morning!

As a reminder, our Unit 1 Test is tomorrow. There will be 41 questions and consists of multiple choice, matching, true/false, and one fill in the blank. We will check the study guide in class today, but collect it tomorrow first thing so you can study at home!

Today in class, we will begin the hour by reviewing our Unit 1 Cornell Notes. We will then work on All Around the World and the study guide for a bit, followed by ending the hour by checking our study guide!

Homework: 1. Study for your Unit 1 Test!!! 2. Moby Max 90 Minutes 3. ALL AROUND THE WORLD COMPLETE! 4. Bring your textbook to class everyday!

9/21 All Around the World!

Good Morning and TGIF!

*As a reminder we will be checking the study guide Monday at the end of class. It needs to be completed before we check in order for the students to earn the 20 points. If it is not completed they will only receive half credit. They will be turning the study guide in on Tuesday (the day of the test). The test will be worth 41 summative points, consisting of multiple choice, matching, true/false, one fill in the blank, and scaling of a map. 

Today in class, we will begin the hour by getting our Textbooks that they will be required to bring to class with them every single day starting Monday! I will then be going over how to log into Moby Max Social Studies  (directions). To log in to Moby Max We will then partake in an All Around the World Activity where we will use our Geography skills to help us answer questions! These questions will be answered in their notebook under the topic 9/21 AAW – Unit 1. Students will go up to each of 8 worksheets around the room and answer the questions into their notebook. An example of this would be: Under number 27 in your notebook the correct answer would be “Atlantic Ocean”.

Homework:  1. Unit 1 Study Guide – Checking Monday – TEST TUESDAY! Must be complete on Monday! 2. All Around the World – Unit 1 Complete it through the blog! 3, Moby Max 90 minutes – Begin this This will not be due for weeks! 4. Check p3!

9/20 Population Density

Good Morning!

*NOTE – For those of you that are absent today please check the blog later for what we did in class. Don’t forget Today’s BellWork!

Today in class, we will begin the hour by putting some material into our notebook. We will then wrap up Unit 1 by learning about Population Density. If time permits, we will work on wrapping up the Unit 1 Cornell Notes together.

Homework: 1. Unit 1 Study Guide – Checking Monday. Test Tuesday! 2. Unit 1 Cornell Notes – Everything but the summary! 3. Bring your book cover to class tomorrow – I changed the dates, we will be getting them tomorrow!

9/19 Climate and Vegetation!

Good Morning!

Today in class, we will start the hour by passing out papers and collecting the Unit 1 Packet. We will then read about how climate and vegetation are related. Please ask your child, “how climate and vegetation are related?”

Due to the extra time in class yesterday, students were given the Unit 1 Study Guide. We will be checking it Monday 9/24, and will be turned on Tuesday 9/25, the day of the exam. All study guides must be completed by 9/24. They will have LIMITED class time to work on the study guide. They need to use their Unit 1 Notes/Cornell Notes to answer the questions.  The test has 41 questions, which consists of multiple choice, matching of vocabulary, scaling and one fill in the blank.Unit 1 Study Guide

9/18 – Natural Resources!

Good Morning!

Today in class, we will begin the hour by turning in our Constitution Day Cornell Notes (if they did not turn this in yesterday) followed by discussing our Unit 1 Cornell Notes and a few questions about the Unit 1 Packet. We will then discuss and take about natural resources.

Homework: 1) Unit 1 Packet ALL PAGES DUE TOMORROW! If you did not finish page 1 please stop by after school to get a book!

9/17 Constitution Day!

Good Morning & Happy Monday!

Today in class, we will be discussing the Bill of Rights for Constitution Day! Students will most likely be finishing their packet today and turning it in by the end of the hour. *Note if students did not finish, with it, it is due at the beginning of the hour TOMORROW!

Homework:  1. Unit 1 Cornell Notes 4 Notes Total/Level 1 Question & Keywords! 2. Unit 1 Packet Pages 1-6 Due Wednesday! (Make sure if you have not completed page 1 yet to check out a book today!)

You may use the summary on number 4 on page 4!

9/14 TGIF!

Good Morning, TGIF, Happy Friday and Happy Half Day!

Today in class, we will begin the hour by reviewing how to scale a map on pages 5 and 6 in our Unit 1 Packet (that is due on Wednesday). We will then begin to annotate our Constitution Day packet! All students must complete the on page 3 of the packet, answer all questions but #4 on page 4 and fill in the Cornell Notes with the exceptions of the level 2 question and summary.

9/13 – Hemispheres and Maps!

Good Morning!

It was very nice meeting many of you last night at Open House! If i did not get a chance to meet you last night, I hope to meet you for fall conferences in November!

Today in class, we will begin the hour by reviewing some questions on our Unit 1 Packet. We will then read and take notes over globes and maps.

Homework:  1. Unit 1 Packet Pages 1-6 Due Wednesday! (NOTE – They may try to work on pages 5 and 6, but I will be getting into detail with them about scaling tomorrow or Monday). 2.   Unit 1 Cornell Notes – Add 2 notes and 1 question. 3. If you wont be here tomorrow let me know!

9/12 Map Quiz Today!

Good Morning!

Today in class, we will take our 7 continents, 4 oceans and compass rose quiz (this will be on parent/student connect today), followed by reading about the study of Geography and taking notes over it.

9/11 – Map Test Tomorrow!

Good Morning!

As a reminder, students will be taking a map test tomorrow over the 7 continents, 4 oceans and drawing a compass rose. We will practice the map test today in class before we start to read and take notes over Chapter 1 Section 1 (Pages 10-14).
