Classwork for 10-04-19

1.) Bell Work:
– Identify two pieces of yellow journalism discussed in class.
– Explain how these two yellow journalism pieces led to the Spanish-American War.

2.) Yellow Journalism articles. We read and annotated 2 brief articles about the U.S.S. Maine explosion. Students then worked on a graphic organizer to chart information about both articles.

2.) Imperialism Brainstorm!
– In your notes brainstorm everything you can remember about imperialism in 2 minutes. 
– Turn to your partner, take turns sharing everything you wrote down about imperialism with each other. Write any new ideas down that you get from your partner. Put a square around the new ideas.
– Each partner group will share out one new thing about imperialism that they wrote down. Add any new information on your paper.

3.) Finish the hour by working on your Chapter 10 vocabulary Booklets. The Vocab Booklet is DUE MONDAY.
