Parents,

We have successfully completed our first week of curriculum and they are doing fantastic! Below are a couple updates and reminders for you.

• Math homework books can stay at home 🙂 Please continue to complete one page per day.
• We are learning two letters and sounds per week. We began with the first and last letter last week and continue with that pattern.
• All students are assessed on Friday to make sure they have learned the letters & sounds of the week. If they did not, I will contact you to continue working with them at home. Kindergarten curriculum is quick and rigorous.
• This week we are learning the letters B & Y. By Friday your child should recognize the letters A, B, Y, and Z and also be able to tell us the sounds those letters make.
• Students were introduced to reading eggs today. The login information will come home with them today. I recommend 15-20 minutes of reading eggs each night (great while you are making dinner!). Reading eggs with really support those foundational skills of letters and sounds the students must master before 1st grade.
