Welcome Back to School! It was great seeing everyone this morning! I told the students that it’s always hard to come back after a vacation, but after I saw everyone’s smiling faces, I was so happy to be here that I forgot all about having to get up so early this morning! LOL
We are finishing up this semester with current job sites, and then students will be assigned another location to gain a different experience this year. We are also planning on scheduling a job site at Howe School a little differently, so that more students are able to get out of the building and gain work experience. Some students just aren’t ready to work at an off site location, and that’s o.k., we have built in “jobs” here at Hype for those students. Students are with us for 8 years, we’ve got plenty of time! And finally, students with a high absenteeism rate (unexcused) may not be scheduled for a permanent job site and may be used as a “sub” instead.
COVID UPDATE:
Unfortunately, some students are still coming to school symptomatic and/or after an exposure. District policy is to isolate the students away from the class, and send the students home. As a reminder, please do not send students to school under the following circumstances:
- If your student or anyone in your household has been exposed to COVID, please keep your student home and contact the school office for further guidance
- If your student or anyone in your household has ANY symptoms of illness, or has tested positive for COVID, please keep your student home and contact the school office for further guidance
- If your student, or anyone in your household is unable to PASS the Daily District Screener (sent home with every student), please keep your student home from school and contact the school office for further guidance
- If your student, or anyone in your household, has a COVID test that is pending, please keep your student home from school and contact the school office for further guidance.
We need every individual to follow this in order to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19 in our classroom. We do not want anyone to get sick and we do not want to have to go virtual again. We are doing our best to remain in person, but we need everyone’s help in doing so. Thank you in advance for those who are following the District Policies regarding COVID and keeping everyone safe.
