Welcome Back!!!
Welcome back to school!!! Whether you are new to my class or if I was your teacher last year, school is looking a LOT different right now.
We don’t know when we’ll be back in the building, but we all need to do our best to make sure that we keep moving on with our learning.
If you have not already, you need to log into Schoology and check out what you have to do this week. One of those things is to work on your summer Project. Scroll down on this blog to find those details. I will tell you this…
- You need to read an approved chapter book. If you’re not sure, ask me.
- You need to write THREE PARAGRAPHS ON A GOOGLE DOC (NOT A SLIDE. IF YOU TURN IN A SLIDE BY ITSELF WITH NO GOOGLE DOC YOU WILL NOT GET A PASSING GRADE.) that tells me what the THEME of your book is and HOW you know that it is the theme.
- You ALSO need something artistic that SHOWS the theme of the story. This CAN be a Google Slide, but it can also be a (nice) drawing of a scene in the book, a diorama, a paper mache sculpture, whatever.
- YOU MUST DO BOTH STEP 2 AND STEP 3.
There is no due date yet. We will talk more about that later so don’t stress. However, if you haven’t even started your project yet, you should get going. Now would be good.
I will be available online for your questions this week from 8-11. Don’t forget that we are off Friday through Monday. On Tuesday, we will begin using our schedule to have live classes.

Hi Mrs.Brown it’s me Mariam I’m in your class this year! I was just wondering is Facing East From Indian Country a chapter book or a history?? Because the book doesn’t say Chapter 1 and all the other chapters so I was wondered if it was a chapter book
Hi Mariam! This is a nonfiction book, definitely history. You’ll need a fiction chapter book. What do you like to read?
