Mrs. Bridgeman's Art Class

March is reading month! Our school will be hosting a lot of fun activities to encourage students to read extra this month. One important event will be an author study! Our third grade team has chosen to study Shel Silverstein’s writing and focus on adjectives, figurative language, hyperboles etc… to get students more excited about reading.  We will have guest readers, special themed Fridays, door decoration and couple of poem in our pocket days.

Our class will be taking the WIDA test on Tuesday and Thursday this week.  There is not any preparation needed other than a good night rest and breakfast.

Our next math test will be on Wed., March 2, 2016.  It will cover geometry, angles, word problems and multiplication.  The math review go home on Monday.

Our spelling  words have the /are/ pattern. Our words are care, share, hare, stare, aware, leaf, leaves, compare, contrast, comprehension.

Our government test will be on Tuesday, February 23, 2016.  Miss Hammoud’s class test will be on Monday, February 22, 2016.

A review went home with all students.  It was filled out in class for them to study at home.  Students may also study using the government review for jeopardy under class links- Michigan government review.

Our spelling words are homophones.  These are words that sound alike but have different spellings and meanings.

Our words are their, there, they’re, where, wear, bored, board, some, sum, value, living things, and square numbers.  The test will be on Friday morning.

Our class will be passing out Valentines and/or candy on Thursday.  If you want to bring in Valentines, we have 29 students in our class.   We will celebrate in the afternoon.

We will be having a parent meeting this Wednesday at 2:30 p.m.  We will be going over the NWEA test and the scores your child achieved.  We hope you will be able to attend.

School will be closed Friday, February 12 through Monday, February 15, 2016.  We will be off for a short time this week.  I hope everyone enjoys their time off.
