We will have off Friday, May 27- Monday, May 30.  Students will come back to school on Tuesday, May 31, 2016.

Our spelling words are irregular possessives.

This weeks words are yesterday’s, family’s, author’s, truck’s, turtle’s

kitten’s, sister’s, brother’s, grandmother’s, area, objective, fable,

events,and gravity.  Our spelling test will be on Thursday morning this week due to the holiday weekend.

Our spelling words are contractions.  The words are as follows:

 isn’t, we’ll, don’t, haven’t, he’s

she’s, won’t, there’s, you’ve, didn’t,

igneous, genre, ten-thousand and sedimentary.

Our test will be on Friday morning.

The third graders will be having a 3rd grade only bake sale to raise money for buses, for our upcoming field trip.  Students may bring in baked goods or treats to sell.  This will go through next Friday, May 20, 2016. Thank you for your help!

There will be a cultural dinner and raffle on May 19, 2016 from 5-6:30 pm.  Students will be buying raffle tickets for $1.oo to try and win either a girls or boys bike, hoverboard, or scooters.  Also a dish to pass will be appreciated.  Please come and join us.  I look forward to seeing you.

Our class will be having a math test on Unit 9 on Wednesday this week on May 11, 2016.  It covers multiplication, multiplication times 10’s and multiplication strategies.  A review will go home on Monday for students to work on.

Our social studies unit called Growth of Michigan will be on Thursday this week.  Ms. Hammouds class will be on Wednesday.  A study guide will go home on Monday.  Your child can also go to class links-“Growth of Michigan 1” jeopardy to study.

Our spelling words this week have the /sp/ and /spl/ pattern.  Our words are
 splatter, splash, spider, speak, spiral,

combine, combination, additional, infer, inference,

The test will be on Friday morning.

Our unit 8 math test will be on Wednesday afternoon this week.

It covers partitioning of fractions, equivalent fractions and number line fractions. A study guide will go home on Monday for students to work on.
