Focus for the Week

This week we will be discussing, studying and working on several different areas.  Each area is listed below.

Math-This week we are reviewing two step word problems and will also be taking our Math Unit 6 test. Please look for a study guide in the next few days.

Reading- Please take time to encourage your child to read “good fit books” at home. Students are given the chance to choose new books each week and are expected to be reading nightly at home. Progress monitoring is ongoing and students who read nightly show the most improvement in reading.

Science- For the next few days we are continuing our focus on plants and plant parts. Including how plant parts help a plant survive in various environments.

Social Studies-A new unit on public issues begins.  We will learn how issues affect us and our state.

Homework- Please remember that homework includes writing journal, spelling work, reading and math flashcards each night. Additional math work maybe be given to provide extra support.

If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact me.

Tests on Thursday and Friday

On Thursday, we will have the Social Studies Government test.  Students first try to click on Michigan Government Review under class links.  If this does not work, try the way I showed you in school.  First, type in at the task bar at the top jeopardy super teacher.  Next, this should take you to the jeopardy site and choose find a game.  Then, type in MI Government RB and hit enter.  Our game should appear.

On Friday, we will have the spelling test and a geometry math test.  The math review went home as part of your student’s homework.  Please bring back in so it can be checked and reviewed on Thursday.
