Welcome 2nd Grade Families! |
I hope your child is as excited as I am about the new school year. It will be full of new experiences and a lot of fun! This note will include information about our class procedures, so please keep it handy for easy reference throughout the year. Snacks and Birthdays We will have a designated snack time every day. If you would like to pack your child a snack, please send healthy items. You may want to send a bottle of water each day too. Some healthy choices include: goldfish, fruit, vegetables, crackers, pretzels. ALL of the 2nd Grade classrooms will be PEANUT FREE. Please check ingredients before sending a snack with your child. We are happy to celebrate your child’s birthday in class! However, Miller Elementary is taking steps to become a more healthy school, so please do NOT send cakes, cupcakes, or sugary foods. Goodie bags are okay, but will not be consumed in class and will be sent home at the end of the day. Important Homework Your child will have homework Monday through Thursday. I will be sending work that your child should be able to complete alone, however, your help may be needed at times. Please help your child to DISCOVER the answer without GIVING the answer. every day at home, including Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. If your child forgets his/her homework, he/she will bring a note home for you to sign. This will keep you informed of your child’s missing assignments. |
Expectations In order to guarantee that your child and all of the students in my class have the successful year they deserve, I will not tolerate any student stopping me from teaching, nor any student stopping another from learning.
