Here’s a long e video. Watch the video and see how many long e words you can find around your house. It’s going to be beautiful outside so make sure you look out there too!

Long a

So, we just reviewed all of the short vowels. Now, let’s look at all the long vowel sounds. The long vowels say their name such as; ape, ate, and aim.

Watch the video and see if you can write some long a words.

Short i

Yay for Scarlett! She found a short e word and sent a picture of it to me. Today, I would like you to watch the short i video and find items around your house that have the short i. After, try and make a list of as many cvc words that you can write with the short i in the middle.

Short e

Today I would like you to focus on short e cvc words. Watch the video to refresh your memory. When you’re done you can go on a hunt for short e cvc words or words that begin with short e in your house.
For example:

Pet, envelope, etc….

  2. What are the rhyming words in the poem?
  3. How many words are in the poem?
  4. How many letters in the poem?
  5. How many capital letters are in the poem?

Short a book

Here is a link for a book that has short a in it. If you have a printer you can print it, or just read it on the computer.
Don’t forget to….

  1. Look at the pictures and think about what the story is about.
  2. Look for tricky words.
  3. Make sure to read the title.
  4. Point to each word as you say it.
