Happy Thursday!

Hello boys and girls! I made a book for you to practice reading at home. I know it’s tricky but please remember to use a crisp pointing finger while reading, look at the pictures and use the strategies we practice if you get stuck!

After you read, please practice those sight words! The more words you know the more fluent you will be.

Happy Reading!

A Few Reading Reminders!

We have been working so hard this year, and the only way we are going to keep getting better is if we practice, practice, practice! Please go to your reading eggs site and read some books. You can read the books in your bag again, books from your house, or even make your own books with the help of a reader in your family. Remember when you read:

Use a crisp pointing finger.

Look at every word as you read.

If you get stuck on a word, use what you learned in class to figure it out. Try yourself before you ask for help:)

When you’re done reading, think about what you read.

Find someone in your house to share what you read, or draw a picture of your favorite part.

Happy Reading!!!!!

We’ve made it a week!

Good afternoon!

Finding things to do can be kind of tricky, so here’s a little game that I played with my daughter today.

Alphabet scavenger hunt! Start with A and try to find something in your house that begins with the short a sound. Apple, aunt, alligator toy, etc… Once you found an a, try to find something that begins with b, then c, d, and so on….

You can change it up by doing ending sounds, or even middle sounds.

Happy hunting!

If you find you have some time on the computer or tablet, you can go to brain pop for free.

What do I do at home?

Hello,

I am missing you so much already! During this time, I am talking with your teachers and I hope that you are staying up to date on their blogs. If you have any questions or concerns please email me! I would love to help you. Just remember, to read everyday, play some board games, go for a walk and talk about what you see. Learning is so much more than paper and pencil work.
