Today in class we took our quiz and then had time to complete any missing assignments. We also took spare time to finish up any science fair research so students can complete the experiment at home over the next few weeks. There is no math homework over the break.

8th grade: Article of the Week-“Chew on This” and IXL 8.R.3 on the Pythagorean Theorem
6th grade: Article of the Week- “Self-Driving Cars” and IXL 6.M.2 on graphing integers
I will not be at school tomorrow, Thursday Dec. 21 because I will be at an algebra professional development
BUT I WILL COME BACK TO STEM FOR MY AFTER SCHOOL RETAKE!

Today in class the 8th graders analyzed the relationship between variables in a scatter plot in, “Correlation Cards”. Then we worked to complete yesterday’s IXL 8.R.4. Quiz Friday!
Today in class the 6th graders worked independently to complete, “CLT Independent Practice”. The IXL for today is 6.M.1 on real world integers.
Today in class the 8th graders learned about correlation in scatter plots. The IXL are 8.CC.14 and 8.R.4 on correlation and the Pythagorean Theorem. Thursday’s quiz on the Pythagorean Theorem will be moved to Friday because I will be at my algebra professional development on Thursday (rescheduled from last week’s snow day).
Today in class the 6th graders worked with a partner to complete, “Solutions to Equations” in google classroom. The IXL for today are 5.V.5 & 6.Z.6 on solutions to equations. Thursday’s quiz on combining like terms & solutions to equations will be moved to Friday because I will be at my algebra professional development on Thursday (rescheduled from last week’s snow day).
Today in class the 8th graders used the Pythagorean Theorem to find length on a coordinate plane. The IXL for today is 8.R.5 on the converse of the P.T. There is a quiz Thursday on the P.Theorem.
Today in class the 6th graders worked together to complete, “Combine Like Terms” in google classroom. Then they wrote CER paragraphs in, “Commutative Property” to analyze solutions to equations. There is a quiz Thursday on algebra vocabulary and combining like terms.
Today in class the 8th graders used the Pythagorean Theorem to find the missing side lengths in real world problems in, “PT Practice”, in G.C. The IXL is 8.R.2 on the Pythagorean Theorem.
Today in class the 6th graders worked together to combine like terms in an activity called, “Like Terms pennants”. The IXL is 6.Y.14 on combining like terms.
Today in class th 8th graders took notes on scatter plots and began “Scatter Plots Classwork” in google classroom. This is due Friday because I will not be in school tomorrow.
Today in class the 6th graders worked with partners to complete the worksheet, Algebra Vocabulary Chart v.2, and “Matching Expressions” in google classroom. This is due Friday because I will not be in school tomorrow.
Today in class the 8th graders completed, “Point-Slope Form Bookwork” and began IXL A.S.21 on PSF. Please make sure yesterday’s IXL A.S.20 & 8.R.1 are complete:)
Today in class the 6th graders worked together to check if values are solutions to equations. Then they worked to combine like terms to find perimeter in, “Variable Perimeter”. The IXL is 6.FF.1 on perimeter.
