Tuesday, Nov. 14

Today in class the 8th graders completed the slope “Worked Examples” from yesterday. Homework is IXL 8.X.2 on inequalities.

Today in class the 6th graders worked with a partner to discuss and simplify expressions containing exponents and grouping symbols using the order of operations in, “Order of Operations Bookwork”. We will check this in class tomorrow.

Monday, Nov. 13

Today in class the 8th graders reviewed how to calculate slope from a table of data. We worked with a partner to discuss our solutions on “Worked Examples” in google classroom. This is NOT homework. Please finish up Friday’s IXL 8.Z.13 if you need to.

Today in class th e6th graders worked with partners to simplify expressions using grouping symbols in, “Watch out for Parenthesis”. Tonight’s IXL is 6.D.2 with NO calculator.

Friday, Nov. 10

Today in class the 8th graders learned about graphing linear functions using slope and y-intercept. Homework is IXL 8.Z.13 on linear equations.

Today in class the 6th graders learned about using exponents and grouping symbols when simplifying expressions. Homework is IXL 6.Y.1 on variable expressions.

Thursday, Nov. 9

Today in class the 8th graders analyzed the relationship between rational and irrational numbers and completed the CER in class. This may be finished at home if you need more time.

Today in class the 6th graders took their quiz on Dividing Fractions. After that, we completed the assignment, “Equivalent Expressions #1”, in google classroom. Finish this at home if you need.

Wednesday, Oct 8

Today in class the 8th graders took their inequalities quiz. We also wrote our CER paragraph from last Friday’s article on Asian Carp. This needs to be completed at home if it was not done in class.

Today in class the 6th graders worked on completing the math and physical education portions of the script for Student-Led Conferences. Tonight’s IXL is 6.S.5 on applying percentages to real world situations.

 

Monday, Oct. 6

Today in class the 8th graders worked on the math and physical education sections of their script for student-led conferences. Homework is IXL 8.W.2 on writing equations. There is a quiz Wednesday on solving and graphing inequalities.

Today in class the 6th graders wrote a CER to explain how they solved a division problem in, “Video Game Machines”. Tonight’s IL is 6.V.3 on unit price applications. There is a quiz Thursday on dividing fractions.

Friday, Nov. 3

Today in class the 8th graders began their new unit on rate of change. We introduced our essential question and read/annotated an article about Asian Carp. There is no homework unless you need to finish yesterday’s IXL A.K.8 for next Wednesday’s quiz on inequalities.

Today in class the 6th graders completed their CER from yesterday and began IXL 6.L.8 on dividing fractions for Thursday’s quiz on fraction division. The IXL should be completed by Thursday.

Thursday, Nov. 2

Today in class the 8th graders analyzed real numbers and wrote CER sentences in, “Rational or Irrational #2”. The IXL is A.K.8 on inequalities to prepare for next Wednesday’s quiz on solving inequalities.

Today in class the 6th graders worked together to solve a real-world unit price problem in, “The Perfect Pizza Plan”. This is NOT homework, we will continue in class tomorrow. NO HOMEWORK!

 

Wednesday, Nov. 1

Today in class the 8th graders analyzed equations for their number of solutions in, “Types of “Equations CER” from google classroom. Then we had a few minutes to complete missing work, which is due by 3:00pm today.

Today in class the 6th graders solved real-world word problems by dividing fractions in, “Applying Fractions Bookwork” from google classroom. No homework unless you didn’t finish in class!
