Good Morning,

I hope everyone is doing well. Don’t forget to start on your work. Once you have completed an assignment please turn it in. You don’t have to wait for Friday to submit it. If you have any questions or concerns please email me at beydous4@dearbornschools.org I will check it daily and respond within 24 hours.

Happy Monday!!! I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend. The weather was beautiful yesterday. I Hope this message reaches you all in good health. A couple of reminder’s for the week. It’s very important that you continue to check the blog daily and complete the assigned work. Under the governor’s new order and the districts plan the work will be graded.  Students must complete the work in order to receive credit for the school days and move onto 5th grade. I am required to keep track and grade all the assignments that are turned in. This will help determine whether the student will be promoted to the next grade level. I ask all work please be completed using google classroom. That is the best way for me to keep track and give feedback. Mrs. Sleiman and I will be contacting you throughout the week. Please if you receive a private call answer. We will be calling to check up on you. If you have any questions or concerns please email me at beydous4@dearbornschools.org I will check it daily and respond within 24 hours.

Reading: Please continue to complete 45 minutes a week on I-ready. I have assigned two lessons.   Interpreting visual information and a closed reading which is also interpreting visual information.  Make sure to complete at least 45 minutes on iReady plus the assigned lesson. Passing score should be minimum 80% and above. Take your time when answering the questions on the quiz.  I have noticed students getting scores below 80%. It’s not a race, you need to use the strategies that we learned in the class. Read the questions first, then the passage. Boy’s and girls I am using Iready scores for your reading grade, so do not rush through.

Writing: This week we would like you to create an informational slideshow on coronavirus. This virus is the reason why our schools are closed and it is important that we know exactly what it is. Please click on the link and read or listen to the book, then read the article from National Geographic kids. After you have read and learned about coronavirus please complete the Sideshow template by writing in sentences on the slides.

Math:

This week you will be working on Mod. 5, Lesson 14.  There are 3 separate videos included in the link below.  Please pause and start the videos at your own pace.  You may also rewind and listen to parts that you didn’t  understand or need to watch the steps again.  The teachers in the videos will pause for you to answer out loud during the video and then give you examples of answers you may have thought about.

There are also printable links for the student work and homework helper.  If you cannot print, please do your work on a separate piece of notebook paper while looking at the problems on the screen.  You do not have to do all 3 parts in one day.
