April 21,2020

Good Morning,

I have scheduled and invited students to a google hangout on Friday at 12:00. Hope to see everyone. It should be a lot of fun. You will get a chance to meet up with your friends. In addition, parents please make sure that students are checking their district email. If possible please have students send me an email just to check in. Any questions, please feel free to email me at Beydous4@dearbornschools.org

Hope this message reaches you all in good health. A couple of reminder’s for the week. It’s very important that you continue to check the blog daily and complete the assigned work. Under the governor’s new order and the districts plan the work will be graded.  Students must complete the work in order to receive credit for the school days and move onto 5th grade. I am required to keep track and grade all the assignments that are turned in. This will help determine whether the student will be promoted to the next grade level. I ask all work please be completed using google classroom. That is the best way for me to keep track and give feedback. Mrs. Sleiman and I will be contacting you throughout the week. Please if you receive a private call answer. We will be calling to check up on you. If for any reason, you don’t have access to a computer or internet please notify me immediately. We will try to work something out when possible. If you have any questions or concerns please email me at beydous4@dearbornschools.org I will check it daily and respond within 24 hours.

Reading: Please continue to complete 45 minutes a week on I-ready. I have assigned two lessons to all of you (Comparing and Contrasting two texts). Completing these two lessons will give you the needed minutes, the goal is to pass the lessons at 80%.  I also encourage students to read books of their choice nightly for enjoyment.

Writing:

This week we have a few readings on if kids should be able to use TikTok or not. Please go over the slide presentation, read the letters and complete each slide. FIrst you will list the reasons you read from each letter. Then you will plan out your opinion. Finally you should write a three paragraph opinion response on what you think after you’ve read.

Math:

You will have two videos to work on for the week.  The first will be comparing fractions from Mod. 5, Lesson 12, where we left off in school.  If you have your Mod. 5 Learn book at home, you may complete the work in there. Otherwise, complete the work on notebook paper after watching the video.  Then you will have another video on Multi-digit division to watch and practice, which you may also need to use notebook paper for. Also, remember to keep working in Zearn as well.
