Imagery

Overview:

This week we focused on Imagery. Students worked in small groups to create a circle thinking map about imagery and answering the Map Guided Question and Frame Question. Students collaboratively went up to the board to write down what their groups came up with on our class circle thinking map. We concluded with a class discussion and an exit slip using a sentence stem to provide the meaning and example of imagery.

Students explored a new “Article of the Week” and we read it together and walked through different components of Soapstone strategy while annotating and thinking critically in their notebooks. Students used different color highlighters to differentiate the various Soapstone components and we modeled this together.

Attached is the Soapstone strategy components sheet that I provided to you in class for your reference.
