Important Info-Stay Connected

Dear Students,

Well, I never thought this day would come. But here we are. So we are going to make the best of it, and as Queen Elizabeth famously said, we will “Keep Calm and Carry On”.

Your Civil Rights Research Project will be posted on Google Classroom. I will post your topics, and you will start your research. Please continue to work on your project and complete the Slides according to the directions on the rubric. All of the resources and examples will be posted for you.

I will be available via email/remind to answer any questions that you may have about your project. I have full confidence that you will be able to complete this assignment and learn all of the fascinating information about your civil rights topic. 

Additionally, I would like you to continue to do SSR. I will be posting links in a different blog post for e reading options, as well as electronic resources for you project.

If you have any questions at all, please message/email me and I will respond as soon as I can. 

Please check your email periodically as the district may send communications throughout our time off. I will do my best to update my blog two or three times a week, so please check back here as well.

Vocabulary Routine for AOW #1

For each of the words: 

A. Quote the sentence from the article. 

B.Infer or write what you think the definition is based on context. This is a guess, you can’t be wrong. 

C.Write the context clues that help you determine the definition of the word. 

D. Find multiple synonyms

Synonyms: A synonym is a word or phrase that means exactly or nearly the same as another word or phrase in the same language. Words that are synonyms are said to be synonymous, and the state of being a synonym is called synonymy.
