Welcome to Mrs. Zoski’s POHI Class!

Dear Nowlin Family,

I am so excited to introduce myself as Mrs. Molly Zoski, the new lower elementary Physical & Other Health Impairment (POHI) support teacher for Nowlin Elementary for the 2020-2021 school year. Many of you have had the wonderful opportunity to work with Mrs. Slack last year, and I am fortunate to join her as an additional support for the POHI team. While accommodating the needs of students with special needs is my main priority, my hope is to serve as a support for students across all abilities, co-teaching with kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Casados & first grade teacher, Mrs. Golec.

Let me tell you a little about myself! I enjoy music, camping, crafting, coffee and cats & dogs. My husband and I have four fur babies: our dogs Lucy & Mackinac, Barnaby our cat, and Bailey our bunny. I also really enjoy being a teacher and look forward to working with you and your family in the school year ahead.

I hold an education Master’s degree from Eastern Michigan University in Social Foundations, Teaching for Diversity & Democracy, with a focus on Disability Rights & Advocacy. Also from Eastern Michigan, I earned my endorsements in Elementary Special Education, Physical & Other Health Impairments.

During my time teaching, I have had the enjoyable experience of educating students across the continuum of supports, from preschool all the way to early adulthood. Though this will only be my 5th school year as an educator, disability and special education go beyond the classroom for me. I grew up with close family members with disabilities and from an early age found that our time together across differences made our lives more full and complete. And it is my passion to provide this same experience for all. As a teacher, coach, and advocate, I seek to see the promise & possibility in every choice –  by creating an inclusive and accessible environment in which every child can play, learn & grow. This goal is achieved when we work together to make collaboration, accommodations and inclusion a reality for our students and our community. I am excited to build community in our school through attending national professional organizations such as TASH (helping advance inclusive communities) and coaching inclusive sports, such as Girls On the Run and Special Olympics. I also look forward to building community where I work and live, as a new resident to the Dearborn area.

If you have any questions, comments, or concerns about me, your student, your rights as a parent, or special education in general, please do not hesitate to contact me:
