An Important Message from Stout Middle School…

Dear Families,

We hope you are safe and healthy. Due to COVID-19, we will NOT be holding live, in-person Honors Ceremonies this year due to the restrictions on social gatherings over 100 people and the 6ft apart rule for individuals not in the same household. We want to maintain safety precautions and measures, and in doing so, will be sharing a virtual Honors Night video that we are preparing for students in grades 6th through 8th.

We will be sharing 6th and 7th grade slideshows and an 8th grade video on Thursday, June 11th at 3pm via our school blog at stout.dearbornschools.org. We know that these slideshows do not replace in-person, live events. However, we are placing student and family safety as a top priority and are committed to doing our part to ensure we are containing the spread of COVID-19.

All honorees will have their certificate of achievements printed and prepared in a folder for them. On Wednesday, June 17th, 2020, we will be hosting an Honors Pick-Up for 6th through 8th grade students. 8th graders may pick up their certificates and report cards from 9am-12pm. 6th and 7th graders may pick up their certificates and report cards from 12:30pm-3:00pm. Please note, ALL students may pick up their report cards on this day. The pick-up will be conducted similarly to our Chromebook distribution, as a drive-through, at the front of the building in the circular driveway. We look forward to recognizing all of our 2019-2020 Honorees.

Wednesday, June 3: Review your knowledge of quadratics by completing this foldable using this video. If you choose to print the foldable, print on both sides and flip on long edge so it lines up properly 🙂 Then use the methods to complete the Quadratics Scavenger Hunt as a review for tomorrow’s test. Upload a picture to Google Classroom. Due Thursday, 6/4 at 8AM. Last day for late credit: 6/7 at midnight.
Thursday, June 4: Take your Quadratic Functions Test. Note: the link only works between 8AM and midnight. Have your calculator, paper, and pencil ready because it’s timed. It’s your LAST test in Algebra 1!  Due TONIGHT at midnight.

Attention Stout Families, 

From Monday, June 1st through Friday, June 5th, from 10am to 3pm, students will be able to RECOVER any materials they have in the building (hall and gym locker) and RETURN any materials that are property of Stout (library or classroom books, textbooks such as social studies, etc) that they may have. Please read the following information carefully as it pertains to your child. This will be conducted the same way as our Chromebook Distribution, as a drive through. However, the drive-through will take place in the Staff Parking Lot, at the far right if you were facing our building, where busses depart at the end of the day. The day that you can come pick up your materials depends on where your locker is. Parents must accompany their child and bring ID. Parents will be asked to pull into the Staff Parking Lot and follow the drive-through lane to the appropriate door, where materials will be handed to them through the passenger window. YOU MUST HAVE A PAPER WITH YOUR NAME ON IT AND LOCKER # WRITTEN ON IT TO SHOW THROUGH THE WINDOW TO STAFF WHEN YOU ARRIVE. Parents and students, PLEASE NOTE, if your items are not picked up by the end of the day on Friday, June 5th 2020, they will be donated to a local charity or disposed of.
