New Khan Academy Requirements

Students,

It is now a requirement of all classes that you spend one hour per week practicing your math skills on Khan Academy.  This is worth a regular assignment grade (two points) in the grade book every week.

By now, everyone should be signed up and have added me as a coach.  However, I will put the coach’s code for each class below.  It is essential that you add me as a coach.  If you do not, I will have no way of tracking your progress and giving you credit.

1st –  3B9S35

2nd – D7T4SM

4th – 9W47TM

5th – MVGD43

6th – EAQC2Q

The first assignment starts this week, so get on Khan Academy and get practicing!  See me in class if you have any questions.

Progress Report Grades

It seems so fast, doesn’t it?

Teachers are required to submit progress report grades and comments by 4:00pm on Monday, September 26th.  Please make sure that you and your child access student/parent connect after that time to monitor his or her progress in all classes.

To access student connect, every student’s account has been reset by the district.  The username is the student ID number.  The password is the student’s birthday with no slashes.  For example, if your child’s birthday is December 14th, 2003 his or her password would be 12142003.

Please keep in mind that most students’ grades will be artificially high because it is the beginning of the school year.  In order to ease students into the school year and teach responsibility we have had many assignments that are simply credit/no-credit.  There have not been any tests or quizzes in the class yet, so final marking period grades may drop some after progress reports.

If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to email me at zimmern@dearbornschools.org.
