Needed Items!!

Needed Items!!

I am looking for some things for art and STEAM: paper towel, toilet paper and wrapping paper tubes, plastic tops from water bottles, soda bottles, juice bottles, etc. A variety of colors and sizes is what I am after. I am also looking for small, clean yogurt containers for water and or mixing paint. I will take most anything for the art room. If you have items listed or have other things you think I might “like”, please email me or ask when you see me. Many thanks!

WELCOME BACK!

WELCOME BACK!

Hard to believe summer is over and we are all starting back up at school! I look forward to seeing everyone and meeting our new students at Snow. As it stands right now, I will be at Snow 4 1/2 days a week- I will be at Maples Elementary School on Thursday afternoons. We are scheduled in for 6 sections of S.T.E.A.M.- one per grade level this year! I am hoping things don’t change on that front, but don’t be surprised if they do. The six periods enable us to offer one session per grade level, which means we can accommodate more students in each class. Selections for students for S.T.E.A.M. will take place after the NWEA is administered the first few weeks of school. Art Club, STAND and City Beautiful will start up in October. Please look forward to information on the above mentioned programs on my blog as soon as I get the needed information. In the meantime, enjoy this last week! Please stop by and say hello if you are at school next week! Thanks, looking forward to a great year!

Maker Faire, The Henry Ford, 7/30-31/16

Maker Faire, The Henry Ford, 7/30-31/16

Hi. For several years now The Henry Ford has housed a very interesting event called Maker Faire. This is a two day event that celebrates DIY, innovation, exploration and experimentation. If you have not attended in the past you might want to give it a try this year. The Faire runs from 9:30-6 pm on Saturday and Sunday, 7/30-31. There is something for everyone AND your admission ticket gets you into the museum and village for the day. I will be volunteering in the Zots Area, an art experience for special needs folks, on Saturday, 7/30, from 9 until 2 pm. If you visit Maker Faire during that time, please stop by to say hello and get a hug! Hope summer is going well for all. Enjoy!!

Field Day: Need your HELP!

Field Day: Need your HELP!

Hi. Mr. Moyer, Mr. Stinson and I have been working out a “new” way to run field day. We are doing two half day sessions. The kindergarten through third grade will enjoy the Field Day in the morning. They will be walking around the event with a group of 5th grade leaders. Staff will be there to help and assist. In the afternoon the fourth and fifth grade students will take to Field Day for their turn at the fun. We are looking for parent volunteers to help run 13 stations. Please sign up if you can help us out. The day is an end of the year tradition and we hope you can come and help us out! Thanks!

I know there is a way to make this a live link, I will find out and update. Many THANKS! Jo Anne
