All proceeds will go to help pay for field trip expenses.
Young 5: Circles! We will be making lots of them in many sizes and colors!
Kindergarten: Paul Klee loved cats as much as I do! We are doing directed drawings in his style this week. Watch for some PURRFECT art to come home.
1st Grade: We are looking at the art of Bebo, a man that likes to create animals with lots of color and pattern.
2nd Grade: We will learn about perspective by talking about foreground, middle ground and background. Our drawings will have a fall theme to them.
3rd Grade: We will be looking at how to do basic line symmetry. Insects have that and they will be the inspiration for our work this week.
4th Grade: We are finishing up our art piece that combined overhead views with pop ups. They are very interesting. Come back for some photos after 10/5!
5th Grade: Our discussion this week focuses on the similarities and differences of geometric and organic shapes. We will add some line designs and create a cool abstract piece.
Just a reminder:
No school on Friday, August 31 and Monday, September 3rd.
Picture Day is Tuesday September 4th . Flyers for picture were sent home this week. You must pay for your pictures on Tuesday. They accept Cash, Check ( payable to Life Touch) or Credit Card. The office does not make change for any purchase so be sure you have the correct amount of cash with you. All students will have their picture taken on picture day for our annual yearbook.

I am so happy to be teaching art at River Oaks three days a week and at Henry Ford two days a week. I have been at both schools in the past so I feel a bit at home in each. I look forward to an exciting year and I hope you will check out the blog from time to time to see what we are up to in our Art classes! Thanks! Jo Anne Zechar
I will not be returning to Snow School in the fall. I thank all of you for 6 great years working with you, as families and friends, and especially your kids! All the best to everyone and a very heartfelt THANKS! Jo Anne Zechar
