What is Pointillism: Assignment 1
Pointillism is an art style using small patterns of colored dots to create an image. The technique was developed by artists Georges Seurat and Paul Signac in 1886 as their art was inspired by the impressionism movement.

Let’s try it- you will need a sheet of paper, a simple shape or image to color in- nothing too hard to start with! You can always go back after you see how it works and draw a picture that is more involved to color in pointillist style- but let’s stay simple to start. You need color- markers are the easiest but you can use paint with a brush or Q-tip, crayons, even colored pencils.
Simply touch the paper with the tip of the marker to make a small dot. Dots don’t need to be perfect nor spaced specifically, just make dots. To create color blends, add different colors of dots in the same area. If you want create shading, start with lighter colors and layer with darker colors.

Well, how did it go? Send me a picture of your work so I can give you credit. Include your first and last name and the name of your teacher and send it to my email: zecharj@dearbornschools.org
Color Squares: Assignment 2

Pick the apple or the pear and color it in using YOUR favorite colors! You could draw your own picture on graph paper to color in, but since this is the second assignment and BOTH are due on Friday, June 5, you might want to color one of these. When coloring you can use any medium you have- crayons, ,markers, colored pencils, paint…….it could even be done with cut paper but that might take too much time. You could get creative with the coloring and make patterns or blend colors- it all depends on how much time you have!
When you have it completed, send me a photo with your first and last name and the name of your teacher so I can give you credit. Send it to my email: zecharj@dearbornschools.org
These are the LAST two art assignments this year!!! They are both due by Friday, June 5 so that I can get grades done and entered in the computer for the June 8 deadline. Please make sure you send pictures so you get credit for your participation in art since we have been away from school.
As always, make sure all of your schoolwork is getting done, enjoy some fresh air, help out around the house and Be Kind!
