Kindergarten Scientists!

Hello Families,

We sure had a busy day in kindergarten today!  We are learning about our 5 Senses through 5 different stations. Thanks to Aailya’s mom, Juan’s mom and my mom for helping today.  Take a look.

Here is scientist Ben ready for the taste test.

Here is scientist Ben ready for the taste test. Please try to use words like: sweet, salty, sour and bitter at home. We realized that many students did not like the bitter taste. Ask your child about the taste test.

Here is the “hearing”station.  Students had to use their sense of hearing to figure out what was inside the tube.

science 009

Here is the “smelling” station.  Students had to use their sense of smell to predict what was inside the cylinder.

science 010

Here is the “sight” station. Students had to use their sense of sight to find the missing object.

science 011

Here is the “texture” station. We felt all different kinds of textures and made texture rubbings. Please try to use texture words at home.

Everyone likes to do “texture rubbings!”

We ran out of time so we did not finish all the stations.  We are planning to finish them next Tuesday at 2:15 p.m.  We could really use 3 volunteers to help us.  If you are available, please leave a comment below.

Thanks!

Reminder:  Tomorrow is Late Start!!  The bell rings at 9:35 a.m.

  2. The students , and us parents as well, are so lucky to have such a wonderful teacher! It helps to know that they are starting their lifelong education with such a positive influence . It makes me so happy to see my son jump out of bed when I say it’s time for school! I never imagined that would ever happen! Thank you so much for all you do!

  3. I will come in at 2:15 and will be able to stay until 2:55 if that will help. Glad the girls didn’t miss the whole experiment today!! Thank you so much for all you do

  4. Jack’s dad will help out next Tuesday afternoon! (Sorry if this ends up being a multiple posting–it’s not going through for some reason.)

  5. So cool thank you for sharing! They look like they are so engaged and having a great time 🙂 Ben was so excited to share with me tonight.
