Week of June 1, 2015

Dear Families,

I hope you are staying warm today!  Here is what you need to know for this upcoming week in our kindergarten class:

  • Monday:  Spelling tests will be given on last week’s words:  cub   rub   tub  sub-  no individual words         This week’s words are:  bun  fun   run  sun-no individual words       Letter books will be sent home on Monday.  This week we will be working on the “gl” blend.  Each week, my youngest son coordinates the paint color in the letter book.  This week he insisted that we must use “glow in the dark” paint for the “gl” paint. Have your child investigate if it really does glow in the dark.  Your child needs to wear gym shoes.  Most students returned their library book last week,  but if your child hasn’t, please return it as soon as possible.  Thanks!
  • Tuesday:  We will go to music and art today!  PTA meeting at 7:00 p.m.
  • Wednesday:  We will go to music today!
  • Thursday:  No Mad Science!  Practicing for Donuts for Dads instead!
  • Friday:  Donuts for Dads today!  We will be begin promptly at 9:00 a.m. in our classroom.  Please make sure that guests arrive on time, students can get upset if we have started and they don’t see their guest arrive yet.  Lindbergh’s Fun Fair will take place tonight.  It runs from 6:00-8:00 p.m.  It is a really fun night.  My own children look forward to it all year!

“It’s time to make the donuts!”  Not really but loved that line from the vintage Dunkin’ Donuts commercial and just had to use, although many of you are too young to remember!:)  We are looking for donations for Friday’s Donuts for Dads.  If you are interested, please leave a comment below.  Thanks!
