GDP DBQ Essential Question Written Response

by Bryan Anthony – Wednesday, October 2, 2019, 7:19 AM

Essential Question: Does GDP tell the right story?

Respond to the essential question by writing two evidence based paragraphs. You must type your paragraphs and either print them out and turn them in or turn them in electronically through Google Docs or Email. You must use AT LEAST THREE (3) direct quotes from any of the documents we worked on in class when writing your paragraphs. The quotes should be from different documents in order to enhance your answer.

Hint for when your planning your paragraphs:

1)What does GDP do well?

2)What does GDP fail to do?

3)Question 5 of every set of document based questions focuses directly on this topic.

On Wednesday 9/25/2019 we began a three day process that will end on 9/27/19.

We will answer the ESSENTIAL QUESTION: DOES GDP TELL THE RIGHT STORY?

We will accomplish this goal by reading a series of primary and secondary source material in the DBQ format.

Content Objective: I can analyze the value of economic indicators like Gross Domestic Product (GDP), and explain how GDP can be useful to economists.

Language Objective: I can read a series of content area documents and respond to a series of written prompts in a small peer group.
