SHOUT OUTS!!!!
Just wanted to take a second to shout out a few students who are already conquering the week!
Way to go Elyas, Imad, Sal, Molly, and Mia for completing IXL 7GG1 already today!! And great job to those of you who have a pretty good start on it! (Jenna, Hussein B, Mariam B, Nicole D, Saleh G, Ragiah, Ayah S, & Zin). Also shout out to Hussein N. who completed the wrong IXL task, but still went on and worked! 🙂
Also, THANK YOU to Adam, Molly and Paige for submitting pictures! I’m so glad you could figure out how to do it! Looks like Adam is watching lots of movies, Molly is learning to play the ukulele and Paige is doing stunts, lol. Two other students posted but didn’t title it with their names so I have no clue who they are, but thanks!
I’m really proud of all of you who are still putting in effort to do something to keep your brains working. I know this is such a weird time for everyone, and any bit of effort to maintain a sense of normalcy is great. Remember, if you don’t do anything else, please make sure you’re reading!! Reading is accessible to everyone!
Love you guys. Keep on keepin on!
Fri-YAY 3/27

I hope you all have had a good week! Today is the end of third card marking. I will be putting in and submitting all grades this weekend. Everything that we worked on before the break will count towards your grade. Please please please do your best to attempt the online work that I am providing each week. I know that some of you don’t care about it because it doesn’t “count”, but if you aren’t doing it, and it ends up being graded, you’re going to be so far behind. Please do your best. It doesn’t hurt!
Also, I’m thinking about holding a couple of video chats next week. Is that something you might be interested in? If so, email me at wootonj@dearbornschools.org and let me know! 🙂
Have a great weekend! Love you guys!
Thursday 3/26
Hi All! Sorry for the late post and no slide for the day. It’s just been one of those days. For the students asking, the questions for the article will be posted tomorrow on iLearn. Sorry for the delay, and thank you for looking out for them. You rock!
Also, for those of you who have not done any of the posted work, please try and work on it. It’s not all that much, and it’s pretty simple, so it won’t take up too much of your time. 🙂 I know it’s not exactly fun, but it’s keeping your mind active!! Woo hoo! Keep those brains workin for when we come back to school!
Miss you all! Love ya!
Wednesday 3/25-It’s a beautiful day!! ENJOY!

It’s a beautiful day today! Make sure to take advantage! (It is Michigan after all, we might have four inches of snow tomorrow! Ya never know!)
-Take a walk with your family, make sure to wave at your neighbors and say hello to the people you pass (at a safe distance of course)
-Write on your sidewalk with sidewalk chalk. Try to write a few encouraging messages for the people out for a walk.
-Jump rope, rollerblade, skate, skateboard, bike ride etc.
-Shoot some hoops or kick around a soccer ball.

What day is it??? ;) Saturday
First of all, a very happy birthday yesterday to Alaa Nasser! Happy birthday today to Hussein Alghanem and tomorrow to Brajon!! I hope you three are finding ways to enjoy your special days!!
Next, I am sorry for not posting yesterday. I think all of the craziness of the past week has finally caught up with me and I’ve spent a lot of time sleeping the last two days. Yesterday I took a three hour nap! Three hours!!! WHO DOES THAT???? (Apparently a very tired, slightly anxious and overwhelmed educator!)
A BIG thank you to all students who have sent their poems! I’m proud of you for taking care of that. Thank you to those of you who have completed your IXL as well. You all truly rock and make me so so proud.
If I’m being honest, I feel like part of my stress through all of this is simply just feeling let down that I don’t get to spend time with you all each day. This has been my favorite year of teaching so far and I really and truly love and appreciate each of my students this year. This group is so kind, hard working and funny. I hope that this Coronavirus goes away quickly so we can return to normal.
I’ll be working this weekend (most likely tomorrow, and probably Monday too) to get grades figured out and look at the poems. Please keep checking the blog and all other platforms for updates.
Have a great weekend everyone! Thank you for rolling with all of the punches this week! Love you guys!
