Thursday 4/16 + Google Meet

Survey (again) + YUMMY!!!

I’m up to 40 responses now on the survey! Whoop whoop!!! Way to go! Spread the word, let your friends know there is a survey (and other work) in iLearn they need to do for ELA! You guys rock!

Also, I was really inspired by Sunen and Mia on the mug cake and mug mac & cheese that they made today (from recipes that I posted in ilearn), so I figured I’d try out one for myself! I ended up making the snickerdoodle mug cake, and it was pretty tasty for something cooked in the microwave for a minute and half! Here is proof of our culinary skills. (My cat, Tia, oversees any cooking that I do in the kitchen from atop the fridge. She approved!)

Survey Participation

27/132 students have done the survey assignment for today! Come on kiddos! You can do it. It shouldn’t take longer than 5 minutes of your time to complete! Let’s get that number up! You can find the survey in iLearn, under the week 4 section. 5 minutes or less, that’s all I’m asking from you! Thank you to all who have taken the time to complete it already.

Wednesday 4/15

There is a link in iLearn for students to complete the survey. Please try to get the survey completed ASAP! (Thank you Nicole, Idrees and Zin for already answering!)

**Also, I am planning to have a google hangout on Friday. Just wanted to let you know, it is not required that you join. I’m thinking probably around 11am.

Tuesday 4/14

Monday 4/13

Hi All!

I will be updating iLearn later today for week 4 work! (I have my nephew today and am trying to get his work finished with him before I take him back home…this is far more time consuming than I thought!)

This is another enrichment week and will be the last one before we really roll out new material next week. Thank you to all of you who are keeping up with what we’re doing! You rock!

Fri-yay 4/3 SPRING BREAK!!!!

Happy Birthday over “Spring Break” to Abraar Alabsi (April 9) and Mohammad Qabati (April 10). I hope you both have an awesome birthday stuck with people that you at least can tolerate 😉 Enjoy it!!!

Today

Hey Everyone-

If you have sent me an email, please know that I will get back to you soon. I’m having a bit of a hard time today coming to terms with not going back to school this school year. I know we still have online learning, but as I am quickly finding out, it just isn’t the same. I miss all of the kids. This has been my favorite year of teaching and the kids are what has made it so great. THIS group has been so kind, funny, smart, hard working, yes-annoying at times (lol, I know I am too so we’re even), but overall just the greatest group of kids. From my first hour that is barely awake and puts up with my caffeinated self dancing around and listening to music to try and get things going, to my lunch bunch group that drives me nuts, but who I secretly love to watch just playing and being kids, to my poor 7th hour group who has to deal with my really tired self and me leaving often for games, but who always steps up and is respectful and helpful at the end of the day. You kids have really made a difference in my life and perspective this year, and today I’m just feeling sad about missing out on the time I thought I had with you. I know, I know, I’m being dramatic, and I too love not waking up at 4:30 every morning and being super busy all the time, those are good things, but I’m just saying I miss my time with you all. You’re wonderful and I hope you know that. So be patient with me as I navigate and plan for some online novel reading and work, and figure out how to get more of you involved! Have a good night!
