Thursday 5/23

* I was out Tuesday and Wednesday this week with a bad case of strep throat, so there are no slides for those two days. Students were supposed to study prefixes/roots/suffixes and then read Hunger Games and work in their reader’s notebook.

**Like I said earlier, I was out two days in a row this week, and was really disappointed/frustrated when I came back today and saw a really bad note from the sub on Wednesday. The note said that my classes were loud all day, and that my 4th-6th hour classes in particular were very ill-behaved, unproductive, off task and ignoring her instruction. They barely got through any of the reading because of this. Another thing that really made me sad was that my Wallflower scent dispenser that was on the wall that I buy from Bath and Body Works to make the classroom smell good was completely ruined and the glass bulb snapped off and stuck in the dispenser itself. It hurts me that my students would be so disrespectful to a guest in our classroom and to items that I have purchased with my own money to make our room a little more pleasant. I really would hope that anytime a guest was in a classroom that my students would go out of their way to make it a welcoming place, and to be on their best behavior to represent us well, but I guess that is not the case.
