About Me
Dear Families,
Welcome to my blog! My name is Christine Wilkie and this is my 29th year teaching in the Dearborn Public Schools. I’ve taught 1st, 3rd, 4th, 5th, and been a reading interventionist/literacy coach in the district. Now I am happy to be the Special Education resource teacher here at wonderful Snow Elementary.
I’ve spent a lot of time learning at universities in Michigan! I earned my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education at the University of Michigan-Dearborn. Then I earned my master’s degree in Special Education at Wayne State University. Lastly, I earned my Reading Recovery certification through Western Michigan University.
At home I’m busy with my “fur babies!” and my “boys.” My husband, Dave, is a retired math teacher. I have two sons, Bruce and Sam. Bruce is a graduate from the University of Michigan – Dearborn. Sam is a graduate from Wayne State University. Both of my boys have math degrees. A love of math runs in the family. Lastly, my furry girls are Ruby and Lola… my absolutely adorable doodles.
I look forward to working with all the students and hope for a great school year.
