Week of November 2

Search our Library Catalog to see what books we have (called Destiny)

Choose your school name from the list of Elementaries (Snow or Howe)

Choose “catalog”

Search by typing in the box at the top of the page

Look up “turkey” and choose a title about real turkeys not the

country called Turkey. Then…

 Answer the following questions on a piece of paper:

1. Your name and teacher name

2. Title of the book

3. Author of the book

4. Call # of the book

5. Is the book “In”  or “Out” (meaning is it actually on the shelves)?

NEXT: Go to Typing Web, Login with Student #, Password 123 and try to win another trophy!

If you’ve never been on Typing Web, you will need to create an account.

NetsmartzKids – Watch first 2 Internet Safety Videos

ABCYA Paint – Create 3 rules about Internet Safety after watching the 2 safety videos.

We will learn about Internet Safety this week.

 

We will visit the Dearborn Public Library to go to

“Kids and Teens” (on the top middle of the screen) then

“Elementary Schoolers” then

“Tumblebooks” to play the games to go with our Internet safety stories.

Once you are on the Tumblebooks website, click “Storybooks” then

Search for “Internet” in the search box at the top of the screen to find our stories.

Look for “games” as the choice to the right of the story we read to complete the game.

Try out MobyMax – a great new program to become a better student! All of the students in Dearborn Public Schools now have access to MobyMax. You can use it all summer and become so smart! Win badges as you progress just like in Myon.

Snow will be open on Tuesdays 1-4pm and Thursdays 9-12 noon each week, all summer.

We will have reading contests and prizes for you as well as many activities, story time and book checkout time.

If it asks you for a password, go to MEL.org instead to find BookFlix

Once on MEL.org (Michigan Electronic Library)

Choose “Databases” from the top menu

Choose “BookFlix” (3rd choice from the top)
