#Day1

In an effort to create safer learning environments for all Dearborn Students, our district joined with hundreds of other schools, colleges, and businesses in pledging to take a stand against bullying and bully behavior beginning with Day 1 of the new school year.

During our opening assembly, Mr. Oke read the #Day1 Declaration stating our intentions and expectations for this year. You can read the declaration here:  #Day1 Declaration

When students returned to their classrooms after the assembly, the students read the Upstander Pledge aloud and then signed it. You can read the pledge here: #Day1 Upstander Pledge

In our ELA classroom, we will create norms that will reflect and support the intentions and expectations outlined in the declaration and pledge. Once those norms have been established, you will receive a copy and a link will be posted on this blog.

Please feel free to contact me is you have any questions or concerns at anytime throughout this school year. I look forward to working with you to help your student be successful in 7th grade!

Schedule Change Requests

All students should have complete schedules that list 7 periods. Any incomplete schedules need to be brought to the office for correction.

Students who would like to change classes (i.e. moving into music, AVID, computer apps) need to email either Mr. Oke (okeg@dearbornschools.org) or Mr. Tindall (tindalm@dearbornschools.org) to make the request.

Please include your name, student ID, the name of the current class & teacher, and the name of the class you would like to request.

There are VERY FEW spots open for changes to be made. Changes will only be made when it is in the student’s educational best interest. Please contact the office should you have questions or concerns.
