Figurative Language + Sensory Details

AGENDA:

  1. Used flashcards to review LWC with a partner in preparation for Friday’s test
  2. Took out final printed copy of memoir and wrote name on back
  3. Used highlighter to identify figurative language and sensory details included in poem then identified each in annotations
  4. If memoir was completed BEFORE arriving to class, students had the opportunity to read their poems aloud for extra credit on this assignment

Rough Draft

AGENDA:

  1. Added figurative language and/or sensory details to bubble map
  2. Discussed the difference between writing a “watermelon” story and a “seed” story for a memoir
