Happy Fall!

The first day of Fall is at the end of this week (Friday) and with the start of school underway, we are going to be getting into more academics!

IMPORTANT DATES THIS WEEK:

-Detroit Lions Assembly Monday @2 (Wear Lions apparel or blue/white clothing colors)

-$1 Pajama Day Friday (Fundraising for Hurricane Relief)

Just a few students still need to DRA test. Early this week we’ll be updating our individual scores in the front of our planners. We will also (hopefully) be receiving our Chromebooks! We will begin NWEA testing this week!!! Please make sure your student is getting enough sleep and has a healthy breakfast. Also, your student may bring in a plastic or metal water bottle to keep hydrated during testing.

OTHER NOTES:

Daily book bags/reading logs will also be going home soon!

Class Dojo points have been reset. We are trying to use weekly points instead of daily points. Everyone has a bad day now and then and I understand that. This way, your student will have the rest of the week to show off their positivity and receive some green points on positive days!

Our focus areas this week are:

ELA: Nouns, verbs, narrative historical fiction, and writing narratives.

Social Studies: How a bill becomes a law

Math: Understanding place value and the Powers of Ten

Happy (almost) Fall!
